The story
of Jeroen Goegebuer

The origins of Gebuer trace back to 1987, when a seven-year-old Jeroen stood mesmerized beneath a hand-carved wooden ceiling in an Austrian lodge. That moment sparked a lifelong fascination with wood and craftsmanship.

Life first led him down another artistic path. Gifted as a violinist, Jeroen spent years touring the world as a professional musician, performing with various bands. Yet the memory of that wooden ceiling never faded—it simply waited for the right time.

Finding His Craft

In 2015, while building his own eco-friendly straw-bale house with a wooden structure, that early spark was reignited. Working with wood felt familiar, grounding, and deeply fulfilling. With guidance from an experienced carpenter, Jeroen immersed himself fully into the craft. By 2017, he had become a full-time carpenter, designing and building tiny houses, bespoke furniture, and custom wooden interiors.

Where Art Meets Wood

Several years later, in a moment of calm reflection, a new idea surfaced:

What if wood and light could be fused into a single piece of functional art?

That question became the start of Gebuer.

Through countless prototypes, experiments, and refinements, Jeroen developed a unique way of integrating warm, minimal LED light into naturally shaped wooden forms—honoring both the organic character of the material and the artistry of handmade design.

A New Chapter

Today, Gebuer presents a collection of handcrafted light sculptures, each piece shaped from reclaimed wood and brought to life with subtle, atmospheric illumination. They are objects with soul—where nature, craft, and artistic intuition come together.

Welcome to Gebuer — where wood meets light, and craftsmanship becomes art.
